UP-816 SILICON INSULATING GLASS SEALANT

Characteristics

UP-816 is a two-component silicone sealant. It is used as the secondary adhesive sealant, with the primary adhesive sealant being butyl sealant. Using the two types of sealants together could prolong the life of insulating glass. UP-816 boasts high modulus, high strength, two components, machine mixing, and fast curing. It also has excellent compatibility with other materials, outstanding weather durability, aging and ultraviolet resistances and great adhesion to most common IG materials such as glass and aluminum.

UP-816 contains no organic solvents, with no harm to human and environment. It is therefore considered as a “Green” product.

UP-816 accords with the standard JC/T486-2002 «Electrometric Sealants for Insulating Glass ».

Insulating glass units made of UP-816 accords with the standard GB/T11944-2002 of « Insulating Glass »

Main Application

UP-816 is to be used as the secondary adhesive sealant in manufacturing insulating glass units. It could also be used for other purposes depending on customer’s special requirements.

Note: Under normal conditions, A and B components of this product shall be mixed at 10:1ratio (see product packaging for details). Customers could adjust the ratio between 9:1 to11:1 depending on the needs. The curative is very reactive and is prone to be hydrolyzed to lose its function. It should be stored under tight sealed conditions to avoid any contact with moisture.

Application Limitations:

UP-816should NOT be applied:

1. As a structural sealant;

2. As a sole sealant in insulating glass units;

3. On wet or frosted surface;

4. On place that requires continuous immersion in water, or has moisture at all time.
